Squirdle is a Pokémon-themed guessing game. Instead of using random phrases, Squirdle asks you to guess the Pokemon name. You have eight chances to guess.
If you choose the wrong answer, you will receive another type of clue. It shows the similarity between correct and incorrect Pokemon rather than the position of the letters. These suggestions vary depending on the type, size, and even generation of the Pokemon.
You don't have to worry about keeping track of which Pokémon have five-letter names in Squirdle. In contrast, Squirdle challenges you to identify Pokémon using the following five factors: Genes, Type 1, Type 2, Height, and Weight. If your prediction is too high, too low, or just right, the PokéBall icon will let you know. If you choose Type 2 as your prediction instead of Type 1, a side arrow will appear on the PokéBall icon.
If Squirtle is of the correct generation but chooses the wrong Pokémon, the generation box will turn green. The up and down arrows in the boxes for height and weight indicate whether the prediction is too high or too low. There are specific rules for element types. Green means you already own it. Yellow indicates that you have successfully identified one of the two types, in this case Water/Fly. Red means you don't have one. There are around 900 Pokémon so there's a lot to choose from. If you know nothing about Pokémon, this is a challenge. Luckily, Generation 1 fans can opt for the Generation 1 Only mode, which limits the game to only Red, Blue, and Yellow Pokémon.
This is not a daily puzzle so you can play as often as you like. But for those who want to push themselves to the edge, there's still a daily puzzle.
